About

I am a former performer. I never felt more alive than when I was acting and singing. I discovered this creative outlet when I was a little kid and held on tight. It belonged to me- it changed me and helped me grow inside in ways nothing else had- and it fed what I like to think of as my “creative spirit”. And I think we all have one-a creative spirit that needs to be fed and allowed to flourish. But sometimes “real life” gets in the way; mine did. How about you? Did you give up that dream of acting, or writing, or painting, etc?  Do you miss being creative? Do you feel like something’s missing? I understand, and want to share our stories. What were your previous creative and/or performance experiences? What changed? Do you still pursue “the dream”? And if not, do you find other ways to satiate your need to create? Let’s share , and perhaps inspire each other!

Richard Looney is a former actor, teacher, and current theater manager living in NYC, watching way too much TV, and striving to rediscover his creative spirit, and inspire others as well.
